Your new local Dental Clinic, opening soon!

We are excited to announce the launch of our new dental clinic being built in the heart of Newton Leys. We are two local dentists, Jay and Ravi, who have been working for many years in Bletchley at our sister practice, Milton Keynes Dental Clinic. We realised after speaking to our patients a few years ago that there is a real shortage of dental services in the area, and decided to work together to provide a family friendly dental clinic to serve Newton Leys and the surrounding areas.

If you would like to become a patient, please register your interest in signing up by clicking the link above.

Whether you’re a long-standing patient or visiting us for the first time, you’ll find the same friendly faces alongside new services designed to give you more choice, comfort, and confidence in your dental care in a brand new location. General Dental Treatments: Ensuring Healthy Teeth and Gums

At our dental practice, we offer a range of general dental treatments designed to help you maintain optimal oral health. Regular check-ups, combined with effective preventive care and treatment options, are essential to keep your smile bright and your teeth strong. Below, we explain some of the most common dental procedures and why they are important for your long-term oral health.

Fillings: Restoring Your Teeth

Cavities are one of the most common dental issues, often caused by decay that weakens tooth structure. If left untreated, cavities can lead to severe pain, infections, and even tooth loss. Dental fillings are used to restore teeth that have been affected by cavities.

The process involves removing the decayed portion of the tooth and filling the cavity with a durable material, such as composite resin, porcelain, or silver amalgam. Fillings not only restore the function of the tooth but also help prevent further decay and damage.

Extractions: When Removal Is Necessary

In some cases, a tooth may be beyond repair due to extensive decay, infection, or trauma. In such cases, an extraction may be necessary to preserve the health of the surrounding teeth and gums.

Tooth extractions are performed under local anesthesia to ensure a pain-free experience. After the extraction, we may recommend treatments such as dental implants or bridges to replace the missing tooth and restore your bite and appearance.

While extractions are often a last resort, they can be crucial in preventing further complications like gum disease or abscesses.

Crowns and Onlays: Strengthening and Protecting Damaged Teeth

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that fits over a tooth to restore its size, shape, and function. Crowns and Onlays are often used when a tooth is too damaged or weakened by decay or trauma to support a filling. They can also be used to cover dental implants or protect a tooth that has undergone a root canal treatment.

Crowns and Onlays are typically made from materials like porcelain, ceramic, or metal, ensuring durability and a natural appearance. If you have a cracked, severely worn, or discoloured tooth, a crown or onlay can help restore both its function and its aesthetic appeal.

Root Canal Treatments: Saving Your Natural Tooth

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that has become infected or severely decayed. When the infection reaches the tooth’s pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth), it can cause pain, swelling, and even abscesses.

During a root canal procedure, the dentist removes the infected pulp, cleans the inside of the tooth, and seals it to prevent further infection. After the procedure, a crown is often placed on the tooth to provide strength and protection. Root canal treatments are highly effective at preserving your natural tooth, preventing the need for extractions and helping to avoid more extensive treatments in the future.

The Importance of Regular Dental Checkups

Regular dental checkups are the cornerstone of good oral health. Even if your teeth feel fine, routine visits to the dentist allow us to catch potential problems early, before they develop into more serious issues. During these checkups, your dentist will:

  • Examine your teeth and gums for signs of decay, disease, or other problems.
  • Clean your teeth to remove plaque and tartar that can lead to cavities and gum disease.
  • Check for oral cancer and other health concerns that may not be immediately visible.
  • Provide preventive advice on how to care for your teeth and gums.

By staying on top of regular checkups and following recommended treatments, you can avoid costly procedures and maintain a healthy smile for life.

Whether you need a routine cleaning or more complex treatments like fillings, extractions, crowns, or root canals, our experienced team is here to help you achieve and maintain a healthy, beautiful smile. We prioritize patient comfort and care, and we’re dedicated to providing the best treatment options to meet your individual needs.
